Happy(belated) Memorial Day weekend! I hope all of you enjoyed your long weekends with friends, family and good food. If you indulged a little too much (as most of us often do on holiday weekends) now is a great time to get back on track. Since summer is right around the corner I wanted to share some helpful tips for eating healthy:
1. Meal Prep! I’m sure many of you have heard this before but it really does make a huge difference. If your meals are planned for the week it’s much easier to make healthy choices and stay on track.
2. Write a grocery list – and don’t stray from it! Also, don’t go grocery shopping on an empty stomach, this makes it far too easy to buy treats.
3. Clean out your fridge/pantry of anything that’s unhealthy – your body and wallet will thank you.
4. Avoid unhealthy choices like desserts and alcohol – this will help reach your goals far more quicker than if you include them in your lifestyle. There are so many desserts out there which are nutritous and once you incorporate them in your diet you won’t even miss the unhealthy versions. (Blog post about this coming soon!).
Below is a meal that I made from the website Paleomg.com. When I meal prep I often make this and have it for lunch during the week.
